Level Description
1 It’s a pleasure, captain. Do you have a moment to talk business? I see you are just overseeing the loading of cargo but I won’t keep you long, I promise.
2 I am Edwin Stephan, president of a small cruise line in Boston. I am planning to expand. Miami is the perfect headquarters for a large cruise line which as of now is still not on the market.
3 I am glad you are interested in my proposal. Still, we need more finances. Do you know where we might find some additional investors? I am willing to travel the world to find them.
4 I heard of the Norwegian Caribbean Line established a few years ago. It seems the Norwegians have money and will to invest here. It’s worth a shot. Get a ship ready and let’s set sail for Norway!
5 A cruise line that operates cruises from Miami year-round is a wholly new concept. I hope future investors will see the potential. We can prepare some drinks to make them more approachable.
6 I have spoken to the representatives of several Norwegian shipping companies. Two of them expressed their interest. We could use one more. Let’s plan a dinner meeting for tomorrow.
7 We have all the investors we need and now the hard work can start. I have coffers full of money from the investors. I hope you can help me transport it safely to Miami.
8 Our first ship will be built in Finland. I will need you to help them out with the materials. Meanwhile, I will set up the office in Miami. I am just going to rent a small space for now.
9 Have you already been to the shipyard in Helsinki? How is the construction of our first cruise ship going? I bet they could use your help there. Be sure to give them your assistance.
10 Our first vessel, Song of Norway, should be completed soon. I have already planned out the maiden voyage. We will have to expand our office too. I had to hire additional office workers.
11 Safety is our foremost priority while building ships for our fleet. But a ship is only as safe as her crew is skilled. We must pick our sailors with the utmost care.
12 I was thinking about the food we will be offering on our ships. I think we should stick with some local cuisine which will be rich in fish and seafood.
13 I must say we are doing well. Of course, the cruises are not fully booked but we are just starting. My partners have already ordered the construction of a second ship.
14 Nordic Prince, like her older sister, will be a modern cruise ship with all the necessary amenities for maximum comfort and safety. Go help out with the construction so she is completed in time.
15 My partners and I have decided to start the construction of the third cruise ship already. The business is going better than expected. We need to establish our place on the market now.
16 With the additional ships entering service, we will need more fuel. We need to close a deal with an oil company soon. But I also have a revolutionary idea of how to increase capacity yet save on fuel.
17 Once Nordic Prince and Sun Viking enter service we will start the rework on Song of Norway. It will be the first passenger ship ever to be stretched. We can start the preparations already.
18 The two new cruise ships have entered service. And the lengthening of the Song of Norway has already begun. I bet they need some more materials for the reconstruction.
19 We are starting some new routes this season. They will be much longer than the original ones. We need to make sure the vessels carry enough supplies for the whole trip.
20 We have enough fish but we need some ingredients for pastries and bread. We have a master baker on each ship. Our guests deserve to begin each day with fresh bread or a soft croissant.
21 The lengthening of the Song of Norway will be complete soon. We have also modified the stern to create more open space on the deck. It will be done right after the last material shipment.
22 Song of Norway is back in service. All of our cruises for the upcoming season are booked out. We are doing great. But now it’s time to pay off our investors. I will be visiting them in Oslo soon.
23 The meeting with the investors went well. They are impressed with my management of the cruise line. I was asked to order a new ship again. We have enough customers to expand our fleet.
24 While they build Song of America in Helsinki, I will take care of the construction of our new office here in Miami. It’s time we had a proper building that represents the Royal Caribbean Line.
25 Once again we are hiring new crew members for our vessels. You know a lot of skilled sailors, send some my way. I am sure we will find some fine staff for our fleet among them.
26 I have ordered custom-made furniture for our new headquarters. I want it to represent the spirit of the Caribbean. I negotiated a fine discount if we deliver our own material.
27 I have also requested custom tableware to be made. The plates will be adorned with the golden name of the ship on which they are used. These small details are why our clients love us.
28 We are celebrating the opening of our new headquarters next week. I have some trouble arranging the catering on short notice. Do you know where we could order some decent food now?
29 As always you save the day. Now we just have to hope the model of Song of Norway, our first cruise ship, will be done in time too. It will be placed in the middle of the entrance hall.
30 The party was a blast. Talking with some of the ship designers, I got an interesting idea for our next vessel. It won’t be cheap but it would be something unique.
31 Our next ship will be the largest cruise ship ever built. And that’s not all. It will have a five-deck atrium. A feature never seen before in a ship. This will call for some special supplies.
32 If this ship construction does not ruin us, it will mean our victory in the cruise line business. But to succeed we have to pour all our sources and energy into this project.
33 This time we are entrusting the ship construction to a shipyard from France. This project calls for exceptional skill and expertise. Deliver the materials to Saint Nazaire.
34 We need to get some of our people to assist in the construction and relay our requirements. Can you pick some sailors to go? I have too much to do as it is.
35 While the Sovereign of the Seas is being constructed, I have been working on another project. I have just signed the lease of a coastal property in Haiti that will be used exclusively by our clients.
36 We are building a private resort in Labadie. I already arranged for the construction to begin as soon as possible. The beach there needs some treatment too.
37 I have hired some local workers in Haiti to build the resort. Please make sure they have enough food and amenities available so they can concentrate on the construction.
38 This private resort will offer unprecedented luxury to our clients. I am overseeing the construction myself so that all goes smoothly. Anyway, where is the next shipment of materials?
39 Sovereign of the Seas set off on her maiden voyage yesterday. She is a magnificent vessel. Now I just have to make sure the Labadee resort is complete and I can go on a holiday cruise myself.
40 Labadee will be opened next week, we just need to arrange the food delivery. I booked a cruise for my wife and me. We will be among the first guests to enjoy the resort. Take a break and join us.
