Hello, my name is Arnold Peter Moller. I’ve heard a lot about you from my father. You’ve been through a lot of adventures together and helped him start our company, but I have a new challenge for you. |
2 |
I’m glad you agreed to meet me over lunch, captain. I would like to start my own shipping company. I have great ideas of my own and want to expand overseas. Let me tell you more about it. |
3 |
I love my father, but his ideas are antiquated. We need to expand and progress. I’m sure once he sees the success of our company, he will start to believe in my ideas and join us, but I need your help. |
4 |
I want to name the company SPCL as a tribute to my father and my grandfather. This will not be an easy task, building a company from the ground up. I hope you are ready for this challenge. |
5 |
As you know, each business needs an initial investment. I have some savings put away but that will not be enough for what we are planning. We need to fundraise and get some big names to contribute. |
6 |
I’ll be inviting some of Denmark’s most famous investors to a secret fundraiser dinner! We need to provide some quality food and wine to get these men to open up their pockets. |
7 |
The fundraiser was a great success! They loved my plan and we got more capital than I expected. We can hire some experts in the field, but I would appreciate it if your men could help out too. |
8 |
Now, we need to find a designer to help us out with the logo. Our SPCL logo should stand out and represent us. I want it to be simple, sleek, and easily recognizable. |
9 |
We will get our first orders in soon, so we need to start building containers as fast as we can. Can’t run an international shipping company without any containers. |
10 |
Our containers will need to be secured on the ship to prevent any damage to the goods we are transporting. We will need at least a dozen wooden beams to make sure it’s all safe. |
11 |
I’m about to go meet our first client for lunch. He wants to ship to Greenland and I’m really hoping our first order will be a substantial one. That would truly kickstart our business, so wish me luck. |
12 |
We’ve got quite a big order in, larger than I expected. We need to get more containers in, the more your men can build now, the better. This order needs to be executed perfectly. |
13 |
We will need to rent a bigger steamship for this first job, it is more cargo than any of our current ships can handle. A big ship will not be cheap even for one trip to Greenland. |
14 |
The time has come! We need to load the containers onto our rented ship quickly and send it on its way to Greenland. Your men seem tired, we should get them something to energize them. |
15 |
I trust your crew entirely and believe that they will deliver the cargo to Greenland safely and on time. This is an incredibly important order, but they are professionals after all. |
16 |
I just got the message through that the order was successfully delivered! We’ve done it! The first order is always the hardest, especially one of this size. |
17 |
The Great War is breaking out all around us and so far Denmark is staying neutral. I hope it stays that way. Business is good and I wouldn't like to get drafted in case we enter. Camo does not suit me. |
18 |
I will be going to a very special meeting, captain. I can’t tell you who exactly, but a very highly-ranked government official wants to meet me. Might be a good business opportunity. |
19 |
We’ve been contracted to work for the Danish government. They are still keeping neutral but they have a lot of shipping to do all over the world. I am over the moon! |
20 |
Alright, it’s time to get back to work. We need to build many more ships and containers to be able to fulfil the government’s needs and do it quickly. War is all around us. |
21 |
The government needs us to make a trip to New York. It will be our first shipment overseas, so it will be difficult. We need to prepare everything as well as we can to succeed. |
22 |
We need to pick the very best men SPCL can offer to go on this mission to the United States. Not only is it a very long voyage, but they will also have to sneak past German ships. |
23 |
Now that we’ve got our men picked, we need to load the containers on board and get going. Don’t forget our provisions, it will be a long and difficult trip. |
24 |
We should bribe some of the local officials to ensure our safe passage out of the North Sea. It’s safer than trying to sneak around their ships, but it will not be cheap. |
25 |
The seas have been harsh, captain. We are very lucky to still be afloat, let alone lose any cargo. We need to keep strong and reach our destination soon. |
26 |
We’ve done it, captain! We have reached New York with no substantial damage. Let’s celebrate and then part ways for now. I appreciate all your help and will definitely call on you when I need you again. |
27 |
Welcome back, captain! It’s been quite a while, hasn’t it? I’m glad you’ve agreed to meet me for lunch, we have many different topics to discuss. |
28 |
War is breaking out all around us, and we do not know how long Denmark will be safe for. Germany is a real threat and I am quite worried, to be honest with you. |
29 |
The Germans have invaded us! We need to quickly hide some of our ships in a cave and then go into hiding ourselves. I will not stay and serve the nazis. |
30 |
We need to go out of hiding for a little bit to gather supplies. It’s no good escaping the German patrols if we die of hunger and thirst in these caves. |
31 |
I got a secret message from the Minister of War asking me to meet with him. I’m unsure if I should meet with him. It could be a trap, but if it isn’t I would have refused to help my country in a time of need. |
32 |
I met with the Minister of War. It wasn’t a trap, luckily, but we do have a difficult task in front of us. They need us to establish a shipping connection with the U.S. to fight the oppressive Nazi powers. |
33 |
We will have a lot of ships going back and forth between Denmark and the U.S., so I will be sending my son, SPCL Mc-Kinney, there to oversee the operation. |
34 |
We have to pay off the local German patrols to allow our first shipment to get out of Denmark and then send it around Norway and Scotland to avoid German submarines sinking it. |
35 |
I’ve received a message from my son, he has arrived in America safely and the shipment was sent back. We need to get all our men together to quickly prepare the next couple of ships. |
36 |
We’ve received the shipment and handed off most of it to the Ministry of War. They’ve asked us to try and hand out weapons to certain people around Copenhagen. The uprising is starting. |
37 |
I just received an encrypted message that we will start the fighting in two days at midnight. We still have many more weapons to give out, so let’s hurry up! |
38 |
Off we go into our first battle, captain! I’m no soldier, but I will gladly fight against oppressors of my country, and even more glad to do it side by side with you. |
39 |
The first battle is won! Copenhagen is mostly freed, a very strong beginning to our liberation campaign. This calls for a celebration! We need to cherish any victories in these difficult times. |
40 |
Captain, it’s been a pleasure having you accompany me on my adventures. It’s a long road ahead here, fighting the Germans, but I cannot ask you for any more help than you’ve already provided. Farewell. |
Final |
It was a pleasure doing business with you. |
